Varun Chakaravarthy Extends India’s Hold on Top Spot as ICC Men’s T20I Bowling Rankings Updated

The ICC Men’s T20I bowling rankings updated on 9 December 2025 place India’s Varun Chakaravarthy at the top with 782 points. The list features standout performers including Jacob Duffy, Rashid Khan, Abrar Ahmed and Wanindu Hasaranga, reflecting a competitive year across international T20 cricket.

The latest ICC Men’s T20I bowling rankings, released on 9 December 2025, have reinforced India’s dominance in the format, with Varun Chakaravarthy retaining the No. 1 position. The Indian spinner leads the global chart with a rating of 782, backed by his career-best 803 achieved against Pakistan in Dubai earlier this year. His continued rise underscores India’s growing strength in limited-overs bowling, particularly in high-pressure conditions.

New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy follows at second place with a rating of 699, bolstered by his impressive peak of 750 reached against South Africa at Harare in 2025. Afghanistan’s premier spinner Rashid Khan remains a formidable presence in third with 694 points, though his all-time career-best of 828—recorded against Bangladesh in Dehradun in 2018—still stands as one of the highest marks in the format’s history.

Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed has secured the fourth position at 691, reflecting a steady ascent, with his best of 703 coming against Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi this year. Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga, long regarded as one of T20 cricket’s most dynamic all-round spinners, sits fifth with 687 points, still carrying the weight of his 809 peak against the West Indies in 2021.

England’s veteran leg-spinner Adil Rashid holds sixth place with 686 rating points, while West Indies’ Akeal Hosein follows in seventh with 675—both continuing to anchor their sides with consistency and experience. Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman, renowned for his deceptive pace variations, is positioned eighth at 665, far below his career-best 718 achieved at Colombo in 2017.
